Marissa De La Paz, MSN, ANP-BC, CVNP-BC

Marissa De La Paz is an experienced and dedicated Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) with over 16 years of nursing experience, including more than five years specializing in general and interventional cardiology. Known for her compassionate, patient-centered approach, Marissa provides expert care to individuals with complex cardiac conditions, utilizing her advanced skills in diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient education to achieve positive outcomes.

Marissa earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University, graduating with honors, and is dual board-certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC) and Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner (CVNP-BC). Fluent in Spanish, she excels at building trust with diverse patient populations and fostering collaborative relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

As a Nurse Practitioner at Chicago Cardiology Institute, Marissa manages outpatient clinics independently and collaborates with physicians to care for patients with cardiomyopathy, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and other cardiovascular conditions. Her expertise includes interpreting complex diagnostics such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests, coordinating pre-and post-procedure care for TAVRs, and managing long-term treatments for cardiac and vascular patients. She also plays a critical role in ensuring safe, effective care for high-risk patients during diagnostic stress testing.

Marissa’s nursing career includes extensive experience in post-anesthesia care, medical-surgical units, oncology, and hospice care. She has served as a charge nurse and clinical coach, mentoring newly hired nurses and leading operational initiatives to enhance patient safety and care quality. Her critical thinking and leadership skills have consistently made her a valued resource for both patients and colleagues.

Committed to lifelong learning and professional development, Marissa is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support.
